Hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year's break.
ACE Wakatipu has been four years now in the area, providing a place where adult edcucators can work together as well as being a central information point for the Wakatipu community to find out about adult classes in the area.
End of last year we have been fortunate to receive a Professional Development grant from ACE Aotearoa. The goal of the grant/project is to upskill the local tutors in the Wakatipu, empowering them to work together in the long term, to market their courses using the latest techniques along with innovative ones.
The Lakes District Council is a sponsor/partner in this venture.
On January 23rd the first network meeting/tutor focus group has been held in the Council meeting rooms. Jamie Roy, a local Social Media Expert spoke to the group and he is looking at helping ACE Wakatipu at making the existing website mobile friendly as well as improving the social media set up and work of ACE Wakatipu.
Following that tutors worked on some key questions for ACE tutors in the area.
All in all it has been a fantastic start for this project and we are now calling on Adult Learners to participate in a
Learner's Focus Group.
ACE Wakatipu is wanting to find Adult volunteers living in the area who have gone to Night/Weekend classes after leaving High School.
This is for a 90 mins Focus group,
on February 27th, at 12 noon or 7pm,
at the QLDC Board Room,
to gather information to be used to improve delivery of classses.
Everyone who participates will receive refreshments plus a NZ$25 petrol voucher.
